A New Beginning
UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!
The first Ridley Cesky Terrier was born in February 1992, and another 23 litters were bred between then and 2019. From that last litter came Ysadora, and in September 2022 Dora whelped 2 dog puppies - the start of a new chapter in the Ridley story.
The time had come to hand over to someone else.
Amanda first met Team Ridley at the Wiltshire Country Fair. She was looking for a new dog and thought that a Cesky Terrier might fit the bill. The following year she returned to the show with Silas (Grancek Slavny Sandor) and they were immediately roped in to help man the stand.
Two years later, Silas was joined by Dora, and an idea began to take shape.
There comes a time when every breeder knows that it is time to stop. Rearing puppies properly is physically very demanding and there is the worry that, no matter how carefully we choose new owners, circumstances can change, and we might be asked to take one of our puppies back, maybe 10 or 12 years later. Would we be in a position to do that? Yet it is hard to think of our kennel name being confined to merely a footnote in the history of the breed, and what better way to ensure that this does not happen than to transfer that name to someone else?
Amanda shares the same enthusiasm for the Cesky Terrier. The Ridley Cesky Terriers will be safe in her hands for the foreseeable future.
